Madison's New Smile

Madison got a shiny new smile this morning. She had a cross bite with one of her front teeth, so she needed braces. They only put them on four teeth, so hopefully it won't hurt too bad. She got the pick out the shape of the front braces, she chose flowers. And then she even got to pick out the color of the rubber bands. She chose red, blue, light purple, and dark purple. Very colorful. Madison has been a little nervous, but she was very brave; we are so proud of her.

What Would You Do?

Madison has always been our animal lover. She even got a new fish tank for her birthday. We put her male and female beta in there to "live happily ever after." Well, it turns out that they were not meant to be. The male picked on the female until she died and then, in turn, died himself. Madison was glad about that because he was such a meanie.

So after Christmas we got her two goldfish, and one has already died. AHHH! What should a mother do? Do I go down to McKee's and get another one and not even tell her? Most goldfish look the same anyway. Or do I tell her the truth and let her cry it out? What would you do?

Well, I decided to let life take it's course and tell her the truth. She has since recovered and is ready to go get another. Good thing these guys are only 20 cents.

Christmas Memories 2008

Snow, wind, and more snow. Mother Nature was against us this year. We weren't able to go out and see family much because the roads were too bad. So we spent a lot of quality family time together. The kids had a blast. Their favorite gift was a Wii from Grandma Payne. They certainly have spent way too many hours playing on that thing.

As we celebrate Christ's birth, we can continue to reflect on all our many blessings that he has granted us.

Christmas Eve Sledding

It was a windy day, but we were protected by the hill down Wildcat Hollow. Alaina had a enough after two times down the hill. She didn't have to walk up it though. Madison had a blast going down with her cousin Chloe. She didn't have enough energy to walk all the way up the hill so she would walk half way up and then sled down again. Finally, Richard carried her all the way up. Josh wasn't prepared and was sledding down the hill in tennis shoes. His feet were soaked after one run. Next time-bring boots.
